Autism Spectrum Disorders
Also known by its abbreviation ASD, Autism Spectrum disorder, is a developmental disorder. Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD) include Autism and Asperger Syndrome.
This website is all about giving helpful and informative information to parents, caregivers and teachers.
People living with ASD have difficulty with:
- Social communication.
- Experience sensory problems with sound, touch, pain, lights, smell, sight and other difficulties not normally experienced by so called “normal people.”
- Some people never learn to speak, some have severe learning disabilities, others have normal, average or above average IQ and learn to speak at the same age as all developing children.
- One thing that children on the Autism Spectrum have in common with “normal developing children is that children and adults with living with ASD go through the same physical and emotional problems an illnesses as everybody else.
- Unfortunately, children and adults living with this disorder are prone to bullying.
Thus far no cure has been found for Autism, but with the right training and support, people will be able to live the best life that they can. It is important to remember that all people are unique and different, and what works for one person may not work for another. That being said, Autism is widely researched all over the world, and soon a cure will be found, as parents we must believe that!
